This Privacy Policy describes how KayaqAI ("we", "our", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use kayaqai.com and related services (the "Service"). We comply with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDPA) and the Information Technology Act 2000.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Information you provide

• Account information: name, email address, password (hashed) when you sign up to write reviews or set price alerts.
• User-generated content: reviews, ratings, comments you submit on product pages.
• Alert preferences: products you are watching, price thresholds, and platforms you have selected for back-in-stock notifications.

1.2 Information collected automatically

• Usage data: pages viewed, search queries you submit to our AI assistant, products clicked, recommendation refinements.
• Device information: browser type, operating system, screen size, anonymised IP address.
• Cookies: necessary cookies to keep you signed in; optional analytics cookies (which you can decline).

2. How we use your information

• To provide and improve the AI recommendation service.
• To deliver price drop and back-in-stock notifications you have explicitly requested.
• To display your reviews to other users (with your stated name only, never your email).
• To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, or violations of our Terms.
• To communicate important service updates.

3. Sharing of information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these limited circumstances:

• Service providers who help us operate the Service (hosting, email, analytics) under strict confidentiality.
• Affiliate partners when you click an affiliate link; the destination retailer receives only the referral attribution, never your KayaqAI account details.
• Legal compliance when required by Indian law or court order.

4. Your rights under DPDPA

• Right to access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Right to correction: ask us to update inaccurate information.
• Right to erasure: request deletion of your account and personal data.

5. Data retention

We keep your account data while your account is active. Reviews you have published remain attributed to your stated name, even if you later delete your account, unless you specifically request review deletion. Anonymised usage data may be retained indefinitely for product improvement.

6. Security

We use industry-standard encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. Despite our efforts, no system is fully secure; we will notify affected users within 72 hours of any breach involving personal data.

7. Children

KayaqAI is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

8. Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users at least 30 days before they take effect.
